Greetings DPW Enthusiasts!
The DPW organizing committee is excited to announce DPW-8, planned to coincide with AVIATION 2025. Since the conclusion of DPW-7, the Organizing Committee has been hard at work developing a DPW-8 based on community feedback and discussion, and we would like to share plans with you for a probable AVIATION 2025 workshop. We will host a kickoff meeting at SciTech on Monday at 7:00 PM EST in Bayhill 23. This will be an in-person meeting with possible hybrid component, depending on connectivity at the conference. A meeting invite with a Teams link is attached to this email.
There are multiple topics planned for DPW-8 in an effort to advance the aerospace industry as a whole. These efforts will be broken into four different Technical Working Groups. In addition to the new Working Group model, we are excited to share that DPW-8 will be co-hosted with the fourth Aeroelastic Prediction Workshop (AePW-4). These workshops will be more than co-located events, but rather both communities are expected to have cross-collaboration for two of the four working groups.
The vision is that participants will choose one Working Group with which to interact over the course of the workshop with intermediate meetings/conversations and culminating in DPW-8. Four of these technical working groups are being developed including 1.) investigating sources of DPW-7 scatter, 2.) static aeroelastic deformation, 3.) buffet aeroelastic predictions, and 4.) wind tunnel environment effects. Students, both graduate and undergraduate are encouraged to attend and submit data for the workshop. Individuals can participate in any of the four working groups and contribute as much data as each individual desires. Efforts are being made for minimal barrier to entry such that students can attend the workshop and interface with computational experts. A significantly-reduced rate is planned for students.
Please make plans to join us for the kickoff meeting at SciTech on Monday January 8th at 7pm EST in Bayhill 23 to contribute to the multidisciplinary and DPW-focused topics.
